EALD Education Support Officer
ROLE DETAILS
We are seeking an English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) Education Support Officer (ESO) to join our Learning Diversity Team for a fixed-term 'parental leave cover' contract from 27 April - 9 December 2026 (during school term weeks only). Under the direction of the EALD Leader, EALD ESOs are responsible for supporting and assisting teachers to meet the learning needs of students who are not yet proficient in standard Australian English.
You’ll be able to:
- Carry out a wide variety of tasks associated with classroom learning experiences (e.g. assisting teachers in preparing, implementing and supervising classrooms and/or intervention programs).
- Assist student learning, where some discretion and judgement is involved, including evaluation and assessment of the learning needs of students, under the supervision of a teacher.
- Apply personal knowledge and initiative to suggest modifications to educational programs to meet the learning needs of specific students, subject to approval of the teacher.
Do you have?
- A tertiary qualification (min. Cert IV) in Education Support and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability working, supervising, and communicating effectively with school students including supporting students with special needs.
- Effective time management and organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks to meet timelines for required outcomes.
