Music 1 & 2

Learning Concepts 

• Performance and Practical Skills on their chosen instrument 
• Music Literacy skills - being able to read and write music 
• Exploring Electronic Music (Music 1), Exploring Fim Music (Music 2)

Assessment Types

Assessment Type 1: Solo Performance (30%)

• Students prepare and rehearse a performance of 2-3 minutes on their chosen instrument. 

Assessment Type 2: Ensemble Performance (20%)

• Students participate in class band to prepare and present a variety of songs. 

Assessment Type 3: Musical Literacy Test (20%)

• Students will be tested on theoretical knowledge. 

Assessment Type 4: (Music 1) Music Exploration - Electronic Music (30%)

• Students will demonstrate their understanding of the Musical Elements through studying electronic music artists and using Music Technology to create original music.

Assessment Type 4: (Music 2) Music Exploration - Film Music (30%)

• Students will demonstrate their understanding of the Musical Elements through studying and composing music for film.
