Caritas Australia Project Compassion School's Launch

19 February 2021

Today we were joined by guests from the Archdiocese, CESA, neighboring schools, The Most Reverend, Archbishop Patrick O'Regan, and CESA Director, Dr Neil McGoran, in launching the 2021 Project Compassion theme "Be More".
St Oscar Romero's words "Aspire not to have more, but to BE MORE" remind us of the importance of how we can choose to live our daily lives. How we care for others, how we behave and what we value as a meaningful life. He is a wonderful inspiration for us here today to Be More. The 2021 Project Compassion theme, Be More, asks us to consider more deeply how we can live more aligned to the values that St Oscar Romero and Jesus Christ taught us by living out the Catholic Social teachings. During the liturgy Archbishop Patrick O'Regan spoke beautifully about opening our hearts more to God, whilst also taking time to love ourselves and others more during this Lenten period. At the conclusion of our liturgy and as is tradition on Shrove Tuesday we gathered to share pancakes with each other.
We encourage everyone to consider how the theme of Project Compassion theme "BE MORE" resinates with them and how together we work to build a more just and loving world.
