Animal Studies - Wildlife (Elective)

Learning Concepts

• Animal biology
• Behaviour
• Ecosystems
• Conservation with a particular emphasis on Australian native species.

Learning experiences include practical investigations, data collection, and observational studies that build both science inquiry skills and mathematical skills such as measurement, graphing, analysing patterns, and interpreting ecological data. 

Students reflect on personal growth, application of scientific understanding to real-world contexts, and engage with community or industry perspectives. (e.g. A focus on wildlife carers, conservation organisations, or animal services)

Assessment Type 1: Practical inquiry - 40%  

• Students will conduct research to develop their knowledge, concepts, and skills on animal conservation
